London ∙ The English Premier League football season begins on August 15. Defending champions Liverpool will face Bournemouth at their home ground, Anfield. Last season’s runners-up Arsenal will face Manchester United in their first match two days later. Manchester City, who finished third last season, will face Wolverhampton Wanderers in their first match on the 16th. Chelsea will face Crystal Palace in their first match at home; the match is on the 17th. The final round of matches in the league will be played on May 24.
