
The Indian Under-17 men’s team registered a convincing win over Maldives in the SAFF Under-17 Championship 2025 at the Racecourse International Stadium in Colombo. The Indian youth team won their first match in Group B by 6 goals to 0.
The Indian team dominated the game from the start, playing attacking football throughout the match. While Dallalmun Gangte scored two goals, Hrishikesh Charan Manawathi, Kanguhao Doongal, Wangkeerakpam Gunleeba and Asim Parvez Najar also scored a goal each.
India broke down the Maldivian defense several times with excellent moves and precise passes. Wangkeerakpam Gunleeba, who provided several assists, scored a goal. Gangte scored through a penalty and substitute Asim Parvez Najjar scored through a header to complete India’s convincing victory.
