Polish striker Robert Lewandowski will miss the thrilling El Clasico against arch-rivals Real Madrid on October 26. The player suffered a hamstring injury during Poland’s World Cup qualifier against Lithuania. The 37-year-old forward suffered a muscle injury in his left thigh and is expected to be out for four to six weeks. This will mean Lewandowski will miss the El Clasico at the Santiago Bernabeu, as well as important La Liga and Champions League matches against teams such as Olympiacos and Club Brugge, as well as other domestic league matches. Barcelona are currently two points behind Real Madrid in La Liga. The player’s injury comes at a crucial time for the team. In addition to Lewandowski, goalkeeper Garcia and midfielder Dani Olmo are also doubtful for El Clasico due to injuries.
Meanwhile, Barca are relieved that young winger Lamine Yamal has recovered from a groin problem and is back in training. Striker Ferran Torres has been suffering from a muscle problem but is not seriously injured.
