Al-Ittihad defeated Al-Nassr 2-1 at Al-Awwal Park in a thrilling encounter in the King’s Cup 2025. Despite playing with 10 men for more than 40 minutes after Ahmed Al-Julaydan was sent off, Al-Ittihad held on to advance to the quarter-finals. Karim Benzema gave Al-Ittihad the lead early in the match. However, Angelo Silva soon equalised for Al-Nassr, raising hopes among the home fans. However, a goal by Houssem Aouar just before half-time restored Al-Ittihad’s lead. Later, Sergio Conceicao’s team displayed excellent defensive technique and precision on the counterattack, which helped to keep Al-Nasr’s superstar line-up, including Joao Felix and Kingsley Coman, at bay.
