
Robert Lewandowski celebrates after scoring a brace for Barcelona
Barcelona∙ Spanish club Barcelona won a huge victory in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals. Barca defeated German club Borussia Dortmund by 4-0. Polish forward Robert Lewandowski scored twice for Barcelona. Barca has not reached the Champions League semi-finals since 2019. Brazilian forward Rafinha gave the Spanish giants the lead in the 25th minute. Lewandowski’s goals came in the 48th and 66th minutes. In the 77th minute, Spain’s young player Lamine Yamal also scored a goal, completing Borussia’s downfall. The second leg will be played on April 16. In another match, PSG defeated Aston Villa 3-1. PSG came back from a first-half deficit to secure a three-goal victory. Goals from Desire Do (39), Quique Kharatskheliya (49) and Nuno Mendes (92) were the French club’s goalscorers. Morgan Rodgers scored Aston Villa’s goal in the 35th minute.
