Chhetri scores injury-time goal to save Bengaluru from ISL defeat

Madgaon: Despite losing to FC Goa at home in the second leg of the semi-final, veteran Sunil Chhetri saved the visitors with a header in injury time. Bengaluru FC, who lost 2-1 in a thrilling second leg semi-final, advanced to the final by taking a 3-2 lead over both legs on the strength of a 2-0 win in the first leg. Mohun Bagan vs Jamshedpur FC will be the winners of the second semi-final in a thrilling encounter. Bengaluru FC’s opponents FC Goa were leading 2-0 in the regular time of the match. Borha Herrera (49) and Armando Sadiku (88) scored the goals for Goa. With this, the match was tied 2-2 after both legs. With the match set to go into extra time, Sunil Chhetri came to Bengaluru’s rescue in the second minute of injury time. Chhetri’s brilliant header made the score 2-1. With this, Bengaluru marched into the final with a 3-2 victory after both legs.
