Doha: ISL team FC Goa and Cristiano Ronaldo’s team Al Nasr in the Saudi Pro League are in the same group. FC Goa have been drawn in Group D with Al Nasr in the group stage draw held today. Along with Al Nasr and FC Goa, Al Sawara FC from Iraq and FC Istiqlal from Tajikistan have also made it to Group D. With Al Nasr making it to the group, the path for superstar Cristiano Ronaldo to play in India has been paved. Amidst the uncertainties and controversies surrounding Argentine captain Lionel Messi’s arrival in Kerala, another superstar of football, Cristiano Ronaldo, is paving the way for him to play in India. However, since Al Nasr has waived Ronaldo’s contract from playing in AFC Champions League away matches, there is no obstacle for the player to stay away. However, fans are hopeful that Ronaldo, who renewed his contract with Al Nasr for another two years at the end of last season, will come to play in Goa.
