England have officially qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America after thrashing Latvia 5-0 in Riga. The Three Lions, coached by Thomas Tuchel, became the first European nation to automatically qualify for the World Cup with two matches remaining in their UEFA Group K qualifying campaign. England’s performance in the qualifying round was impressive: they scored 18 goals in six games and conceded none.
Anthony Gordon opened the scoring for England. Harry Kane then scored twice. An own goal by a Latvian player and a late goal by substitute Eberechi Eze sealed the victory.
