Germany to win
When Germany enters the European Cup on home soil, their goal is a fourth title. The opening match against Scotland is the first step towards that. The Germany-Scotland match kicks off at 12.30 pm on Friday at the Munich Football Arena.
Germany has not been able to win the title since 1996. The team also collapsed in the last World Cup. But the team has improved under new coach Julian Nagelsmann. Germany’s strength is the presence of a good group of young players and veteran players who have not lost their fighting spirit. The return of midfielder Toni Kroos to the team after retiring will increase its strength. Germany will play in a 4-2-3-1 style. Kai Havertz will play as the lone striker. Ilkay Gundogan will play right behind. Florian Ritz and Jamal Musiala will be on the wings. Toni Kroos and Robert Andrej will be. Jonathan Tah-Antonio Rudiger will be the central defense.
Scotland, coached by Steve Clarke, are capable of coups. The Scottish team will play in a 3-5-1-1 formation. Che Adams will play as a striker. John McGinn will also play as a second striker. Scott McTominay, Callum McGregor and Billy Gilmour will be in midfield. Anthony Ralston and Andy Robertson will play on the wings.
Title contenders and dark horses
When the Euro Cup rolls around, the question that comes to the minds of football fans is who will lift the trophy. French star Kylian Mbappe says that the Euro Cup is better than the World Cup, which is the very reason why the battles in the Euro Cup are so tough.
The current champions Italy, the giants France, Germany, England, Portugal, Belgium and Spain are the title contenders. While former players Alan Shearer and Wayne Rooney are sure that the title will go to England, coach Jose Mourinho sees the possibility of Cristiano’s Portugal. Renowned sportswriter Jonathan Wilson predicts that Germany will lift the trophy and will face France in the final. England goalkeeper Joe Hart is with the Spanish team.
While talking about the possibilities of the giants, the Euro Cup also has a history of dark horses, with Denmark in 1992 and Greece in 2004 winning the title. This time, Hungary, Romania, Turkey, Scotland and Slovenia are the teams with the potential to overthrow. Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappe, Romelu Lukaku, Harry Kane and Rasmus Heylund are ready for the goal competition.
