Barcelona manager Hansi Flick was quick to send a strong message out to his players after Sunday’s exhilarating 4-2 win over Atletico.

The Catalans were, understandably, overjoyed to clinch the important win – particularly after being 2-0 down with just 70 minutes left for play.

Flick was clearly delighted with the win but made sure to try and calm his players’ euphoria down in the aftermath of the game, according to AS.

The German coach thinks too much positive emotion is “counterproductive” for his team, especially as his squad is packed full of youngsters.

Flick made it clear to his players that despite their brilliant form, they have won nothing yet, and there is still a long way to go.

The Barcelona boss also made it clear that “effort and humility” are needed to win titles and that there’s no room for arrogance.

Flick is happy for his players to be ambitious but doesn’t want to hear the word “treble” or see any excessive overconfidence.

Despite it all, the boss knows full well his team is an excellent position to enjoy a stellar season but his focus right now is on keeping a young team grounded and focused.
