The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has officially declared Inter Kashi FC as the I-League champions for the 2024-25 season, giving them a promotion to the country’s top-tier league, the Indian Super League (ISL).
Inter Kashi’s historic promotion came after the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), the global court for resolving sporting disputes, overturned the decisions taken by the AIFF’s appeal committee regarding player registration. With the CAS ruling in Inter Kashi’s favour, they were given back the points they had lost due to the disputes and secured the top spot in the league table with 42 points. Inter Kashi are two points ahead of second-placed Churchill Brothers. Inter Kashi’s 3-1 victory over Rajasthan United in the final match of the season was crucial for their title.
With official confirmation from the AIFF, Inter Kashi will be able to compete in the ISL next season if they meet the financial and technical requirements.
