
Newcastle: Liverpool beat Newcastle United in injury time despite being reduced to ten men and trailing by two goals. Liverpool pocketed three valuable points with Rio Ngumova’s goal in the 10th minute of injury time.
Gravenberk’s goal in the 35th minute put the Reds ahead. After a move on the left wing, Gravenberk converted a cross from Cody Gakpo with a right foot from outside the box. This goal left six Newcastle players in the stands. Many of Newcastle’s advances ended in front of Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker and the defenders. A cross from Valentino Livremento on the left wing was passed to Alisson by Bruno Guimaraes, who headed it into the net. Newcastle’s efforts to get back into the game paid off in the 88th minute. Newcastle’s free kick was headed in from the centre by Nick Pope. Konate’s mistake was met with a chance that Osula converted. Newcastle, who fought with ten men, looked set to end the match in a draw.
But Liverpool took control of the match that went into extra time. This time, 16-year-old Rio Ngumova was the savior. Mohamed Salah crossed for Nugumoha, who made his debut as a substitute in the 90th minute. Nugumoha, who was free in the box with no one to mark, cut the ball into the right corner of the box.
