Mohamed Salah led the Egypt national football team to a place in the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Egypt secured their place in the final group stage with a dominant 3-0 win over Djibouti in Casablanca. Salah scored twice in the decisive match, proving once again why he remains one of Africa’s most influential footballers. The victory marked Egypt’s fifth World Cup qualification. The ‘Pharaohs’ had also qualified in 1934, 1990 and 2018.

Salah continues to shine for club and country. Despite a relatively slow start to the club season, the Egyptian has a stellar record in World Cup qualifiers. He has scored a total of nine goals in the qualifying campaign. Egypt are currently top of Group A.
