Japan secured its qualification by defeating Bahrain 2-0 in the third round of the Asian Qualifying Championship yesterday. Japan is 9 points ahead in Group C with 19 points from 7 games. 48 teams are competing in the next World Cup. The hosts USA, Canada and Mexico have already qualified. The World Cup is scheduled to be held from June 11 to July 19, 2026.
